米Microsoftは2月18日（現地時間）、Windows 11の先行バージョン「29531.1000」を公開した。Canary Channel内でオプションとして提供するとしており、チャネル内で2つのバージョンが共存することになる。
つまり、画面を左右のペインに分割したとき、右側ペインに「通知」「システム制御」、左側ペインに「天気」「ニュース」「ウィジェット」を配置した場合、スタートメニューは中央に配置せざるを得ず、タスクバーを左右縦方向に配置するとこれらペインと表示が競合するからという理由だ。
