先日エンジン始動の様子をご紹介させて頂いた、DS6Cとほぼ同時期にレストアが進行していた'90年型のTZ250(型式3TC)のエンジン始動の様子をご紹介します。 今回のレストアはコミュ二ケーションプラザの工房ではなく、かつてTZ250の開発にも深く関わっていた「難波恭司」さんのワークショップにて行われました。 難波さんはかつてヤマハ発動機のレース部門の開発ライダーとして、この市販レーサ―TZ250だけでなくファクトリーマシンYZR500の開発も担当していました。 1998年の日本グランプリ(鈴鹿サーキット)では、チーム・レイニーのジャン・ミッシェル・バイル選手の代役で参戦し、予選ではスーパーラップを連発しポールポジションのマックス・ビアッジ選手に僅差で続く2位を獲得。決勝ではスポット参戦の芳賀紀行選手の3位表彰台に続いて5位を獲得。「とんでもなく速い開発ライダー」として一躍有名になったのは忘れ難いエピソードです。 | Yamaha Communication Plaza
